Wedgewood House is the former home and office of Milton Wedgewood, a doctor in Lewiston. Built in 1873, if served as a residence/office for many years, then as a funeral home, then housing. When the project began there was significant deterioration and neglect; the building had been vacant for a number of years, and had also suffered fires over its lifetime.
Barba + Wheelock was commissioned by KTA (Kaplan Thompson Architects) to rehabilitate the Wedgewood house as part of a much larger housing project for the entire city block. Its resurrection anchors the entire neighborhood with a beautifully restored building.
