Cynthia Wheelock is an architect and preservationist with over 40 years of experience in the field. Her focus is on the design-side of projects. She is a strategic thinker and loves the challenge of difficult design problems. Cynthia’s typical roles include client and consultant interface, design guidance, review, scheduling, and strategic planning.
Cynthia has been involved in many additions to contextual design projects and in the restoration of historic residences, churches, libraries, museums, colleges, and other civic buildings. In addition to working on historic properties, Cynthia has been involved in numerous new residential and commercial buildings.
Cynthia acted as Principal-In-Charge for many of the B+W projects including the following recent projects: Acadia National Park Gatehouses and Storm Beach Cottage, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Maine Street Maine Program, conditions reports and award-winning historic preservation projects: Friends’ Central School in Pennsylvania, Merrill Memorial Library, and L.L. Bean Home.
Cynthia is the managing partner in the firm helping to set strategic goals and objectives. Her strategic mind helps to solve difficult design challenges and to resolve conflicts should they arise. She loves philosophy, mentoring others, reading good historical novels, carpentry, hiking, sailing and golf.
